Our Team

Studio West Design & Drafting is a one-person home based business. Sharon Ponsford is the Designer/Drafstperson and has a varied and interesting career background.

Sharon has worked in the Information Technology (I.T.) industry for over 12 years, during that time her roles included software developer, object-oriented analyst/designer, senior software engineer, technical writer, user interface designer and website developer - working for a number of different companies on a range of commercial projects.

In a bid to change the pace of her busy lifestyle, Sharon started work as a part-time lecturer in Information Technology and Multimedia at her local TAFE college.

With more time on her hands, Sharon studied architectural drafting initially as a hobby and completed a qualification in Residential Drafting. This study led to several years full time employment with one of Perth's largest residential builders, working in several roles including Draftsperson and Assistant to the Head of Design.

During that time Sharon gained a wealth of experience while working on a large volume of residential homes and unit developments with leading designers and architects.

Sharon has recently taught computer skills in Word, Excel and Autosketch CAD software to Diploma of Builders Registration students one night a week at a local TAFE college.

Sharon has a Certificate IV in Residential Drafting; a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training and a Diploma in Information Technology. Sharon is also a HIA Certified Greensmart Professional; an Accredited Energy Efficiency Assessor; member of ABSA (Association of Building Sustainability Assessors); and a member of the AIBD (Australian Institute of Building Designers).

In her spare time Sharon enjoys playing her piano, and regular volunteer work at a local wildlife care facility.
